There is so much going on around Oxford over the half term, and there are listings galore on Oxford Mumbler! Check out the events calendar for events happening over one or two days, and our May half term holiday activities page for details of events lasting the whole week.
I can’t do justice to everything that’s happening with a round-up here, so have just picked out a few things I’m hoping to get to:
Colourscape at Waddesdon – I’m particularly keen to go to this as we were given National Trust membership cards for Christmas and still haven’t used them, oops. The website promises, ‘Long views of intense colour and light stretch out – the longest view ever created in Colourscape will appear in the ‘Aviary Colourscape’. Enter a new world where you can explore intense light, colour and space in 56 interlinked chambers and encounter unusual musical experiences during your journey.’
Continuing the colour theme, I’m also hoping to get to Colourlab at the wonderful Oxfordshire Museum on Wednesday 30th May. This is going to be a ‘a playful exploration of the science of colour. Investigate how colours are made and what happens when they’re mixed together. A rainbowtastic workshop for the young at art!’
The Story Museum has got events on everyday, tying in with their Alphabetown exhibition, as well as a Detective Day and Musical Tea Times with Alice. I want to try to make the most of The Story Museum, before all its major exhibitions close on 8th July until 2020 for major refurbishments… *sobs*.
And Little Oxplorer’s Fairy Door Trail! Please see her guest blog here for more details.
As always, please let us know if there are any events you’d like to add to Oxford Mumbler here. It would also be great if you fancy posting a review of any half-term outings on the Oxford Mumbler Chat Group on Facebook – you can’t beat a personal recommendation after all!
Happy half term everyone!
