Cowley Road Carnival Is on 7 July 2019. Expect a fun-packed day of performance,participation and plenty of things to do at Oxford’s Big Day Out.
This year’s theme is Space is the Place and prepare to be amazed by the dazzling costumes, musicians and dancers from the many schools and community groups who will join the procession from The Plain to Magdalen Road. It is a site that forms the focal point of the day. But be sure to arrive early so that you can see and do everything you want to during the day.
Music and song from all genres will play out from venues and stages along the length of the road, as well as adjacent areas such as the Disco Car Park (behind Tesco), Restore (cafe and tranquil,music in the garden(, and the Asian Cultural Centre (global dance stage).
There will be pop-up performances, spoken word, drama and dance. Without doubt, something for everyone, whether you are 1 or 100!
Not forgetting the fabulous food from all corners of the globe that will be there to tempt you. Give in to the temptation and try something new, as well as your Carnival favourites.
The day will start at 11 am – 5 pm with the procession starting at 12.30 pm from The Plain.
