It’s all a bit morbid thinking of what could happen if you and your spouse die isn’t it? You might well have already ticked off getting Life Insurance… But knowing that your wishes will be carried out if the worst happens does bring significant peace of mind, particularly when you’re a parent.
Writing a Will is something that so often gets put to the bottom of the list- so much so, that two thirds of adults in the UK still don’t have a Will. If the last year has taught us anything, it’s that we need to prepare for every eventuality and make sure that your affairs are in order.
Robinson Murphy Solicitors have created a Mumbler Mirror Will Package. It’s simple and quick to do and is created specifically with married parents with children from this relationship in mind.
This package is reduced to £300 (including VAT) to Mumblers… and if the Mirror Will Package isn’t quite right for you (for example you’re a single parent, unmarried, have a blended family or just don’t fancy a mirror will), then you can still get a £50 Mumbler discount for the Will that you need. A single Will with discount will be just £180.
What is a Mirror Will?
A Mirror Will is essentially TWO Wills, created by you and your spouse. You both have identical terms- you leave everything to your partner if you are still alive and your children if you’re not. They are a cost effective option of writing a will (because they are the same) but because they are two individual wills, they can each be changed in the future; they are not legally tied together and once written, each of you can update or change your will as you wish.
What is included in the Mumbler Mirror Will Package?
Naming a guardian(s) for your children if both parents pass
Stating your beneficiaries and what they will receive (generally to the surviving spouse, secondly to your children, and finally to beneficiaries)
Stating the executors of the will and backup executors
Stating what happens if the beneficiaries die before you or also die
A review of your Will in 5 years time to check your circumstances or laws haven’t changed
Any special requests (eg arrangements, gifts/treasured personal items that you wish to leave to a specific person, or charity contributions)
Your Wills are stored securely at the Robinson Murphy’s office for you (or your dependents after your death) to withdraw at any time.
