School’s (nearly) out for the summer! 5 ways Kowalah can help you survive the long summer holidays!
Guest blog by Kowalah
Kowalah is a mobile app delivering On Demand Childcare across Oxfordshire by connecting parents with local babysitters and providers of childcare. Kowalah provides regular bookings for afterschool care as well as one off care for evening sitting and help with parties. Parents are connected with up to 5 available Kowalahs in 15 minutes giving them speed and flexibility. All Kowalahs have been interviewed, DBS checked, and referenced, providing parents with peace of mind.
With the amazing weather that we’ve seen over the last month it is hard to believe that the children are all still in school, but term is still wrapping up and the long Summer break is yet to come.
For the children it’s a time of excitement, holidays and the opportunity to make memories. For many parents though it can seem like a never ending mission to try and keep the kids entertained while juggling work commitments.
In this post we’ll look at 5 ways that Kowalah can help you through this holiday period!
1. Full-time Support
Some weeks you just need a helping hand for the full five days. You might be working and have meetings away and need to have someone turn up in the morning, help out with breakfast and look after the children throughout the day.
If you have multiple children you might be watching friends put their kids into a cricket, sailing or activity club and thinking the costs don’t stack up when you have three or four children. In these cases a Kowalah dedicated to your family can be ideal.
A Kowalah could help you out full time – 5 days a week, or perhaps a regular 2 or 3 days per week throughout the summer break.
Getting the right Kowalah or mix of Kowalahs to support you full time is a personal job so just email us at email@example.com to discuss.
2. Overnight Stays
Often the Summer is the time of amazing weddings and weekend parties that you’d love to attend and let your hair down – if only you didn’t have to drive back to take over from the babysitter at the end of the evening.
But fear not, Kowalahs provide overnight stays to allow you to party on and return the next day. Your chosen Kowalah will arrive as normal and get involved with the kids, help them with an evening meal and bed time, before using a spare bed when it is time for them to sleep. In the morning your Kowalah is up and ready to help the kids with breakfast and will look after them until your return later in the day.
3. Come Fly with Me
If you are headed off on holiday, either in the sunny UK or further afield, Kowalahs can support you by joining you on your holiday to take on day time and evening childcare responsibilities while you are there.
We have two packages that we offer:
Your Kowalah works 6 hours per day plus 3 evenings of sitting during the week (usually 4 hours while you have a meal out)
Your Kowalah works 10 hours per day plus 4 evenings of sitting during the week.
Your Kowalah would also have 1 day completely off during the week. You would be responsible for any flights, meals and accommodation for your Kowalah when they travel with you.
Kowalahs are brilliant on holidays especially if you have multiple children of different ages and you need a helping hand with a range of activities!
As these tend to be custom requests just email us to let us know of your requirements at firstname.lastname@example.org
4. Activity Days
Some days you just want your kids to get out of the house and have a great experience, and this is where a Kowalah activity day comes in. Your Kowalah will arrive and take the kids out for the day – it could be to a wildlife park, swimming, museums, treasure hunts or simply enjoying the great outdoors!
The kids have a great day not cooped up at home and they make great memories.
Just launch your booking request as normal, but in the notes section let us know that you’d like your children taken for an activity and that you’ll require driving – this helps our Kowalahs know whether to accept or not!
You would be responsible for any entry costs to the activity for your children and the Kowalah, along with food and drink for their lunch. You would also be responsible for the Kowalah’s fuel to get to and from the activity at 45p per mile.
5. On Demand Care
And finally, there are those days or evenings when you just need short notice on demand care – a meeting pops up at the last moment, or an evening BBQ with friends is scheduled to make the most of the beautiful weather.
Kowalah is on hand to ensure your kids get access to brilliant Kowalahs when you need them – just launch a booking request as soon as you know you need one!
Whatever your plans for the Summer break, and whatever requirements you might have for some extra support from a smiling Kowalah then just let us know and we’ll be happy to help!
