Great Coxwell Great Barn

September 18, 2021 - September 19, 2021

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every day that begins at 12:00 am, repeating until September 19, 2021

We have packed the National Trust Great Barn and it’s grounds to the rafters with family theatre, music, storytelling and activities. From David Gibb’s Family Juke Box to Shakespeare for a younger audience, spell binding folk tales to tales from the puppet animals of the Great Wood, silent discos, National Trust pond dipping, circus skills and a children’s tent full of fun crafty makes we are sure to have something to keep families of all ages entertained. We will also have lots for grown ups and as organisers and mums of little people ourselves we hope we have thought of ways to make your day out easier. The food should suit the fussiest and the most adventurous of eaters, we have fabulous fully caffeinated (and decaf) coffee, a bar, a quiet space for changing, feeding or decompressing if needed and with relaxed performances you don’t need to fret about the odd bit of shuffling or needing the loo in the middle. Come and spend a day in the countryside – all the fresh air and open space to run and explore will make for a lovely night’s sleep. If you want to brave staying up a little late the bands are exceptional on Saturday night but we start our music early so you don’t feel you are missing out. Sunday evening we close with Robin Hood, safe viewing for well behaved children, from the Director if The Show that Goes Wrong and sure to be full of mad cap laughter, music and terrible sword fighting. This is an outdoor performance and will go ahead unless the weather becomes dangerous – so pack a brolly!
