It’s harvest time at Cogges so we’ll be gathering together for a celebratory day of delicious food and fun, with even more delicious treats from the orchard and walled garden.
You can taste a variety of fresh produce from food stalls and demonstrations, and get involved in lots of foodie-based fun around the farmyard and grounds. We’ll have apple pressing where you can bring in your own apples, find out what they are, before making your own juice (please arrive with ready-shopped apples) and don’t forget to take a bottle or flask along too. We will also have a limited supply for a small donation.
The Windrush Bowmen will be camping out on the lawn in period dress throughout the day, demonstrating their archery skills and sparring using replica weapons, as well as showing visitors traditional weaving techniques. By the manor house, the apple fun continues with toffee apples, butter making, corn dollies, apple bunting and apple crafts, plus den building, mud kitchen and more fun under the trees.
For the grown-ups, there’s always the Cogges Cider Bar and live folk music to entertain all afternoon.
Usual entry fees apply or free for season ticket holders and under 3s. Well behaved dogs on leads are most welcome.
