Kayti’s Espresso Martini
Espresso Martini is the drink of choice for many a tired parent – alcohol AND caffeine in one gorgeous hit! I like mine strong. You’ll need a cocktail shaker – fill with ice, add a shot of hot coffee, 50ml of vodka, 25ml Kahlua and 25ml of Cointreu for a hint of orange (and of course more booze). Shake it up – give it some welly – the ice will cool the coffee. Then use a strainer, pour and enjoy. My Christmas party tipple of choice!
Kate’s Christmas Prosecco Twinkle
My friend makes this every year at his Christmas cheer. Certainly puts a little cheeky Twinkle in your step! A really easy recipe – take a champagne flute and add 25ml vodka. 15ml elderflower cordial then fill to top with Champagne or Prosecco. So delicious! Just be careful and pace yourself – I’m talking from experience!
Evie’s Christmas Bramble
I’m a big fan of gin – and we’re spoilt for choice with so many amazing gins made right here in Harrogate! The Slingsby’s Christmas Pudding Gin is a must try! For a classic bramble you’ll need 50ml of gin, but if you fancy trying my Christmas Bramble then treat yourself to a bottle of Christmas pudding gin! You’ll also need 25ml lemon juice, tbsp sugar syrup and tbsp creme de mure. Shake all the ingredients bar the creme de mure in a cocktail shaker then strain into a large glass of crushed ice. Drizzle the creme de mure over the top – garnish with fruit. A great cocktail all year round, but everything’s better at Christmas right?
Sally’s Mulled Wine
Christmas isn’t Christmas without mulled wine is it? And this one is sure to put hairs on your chest! We do this in the slow cooker on Christmas Eve then enjoy it all evening! For one batch (yes we’ve been known to get through more than one batch!) you’ll need two bottles of red wine, 100ml of Cointreau, zest and juice of two large oranges, zest of one lemon, 120g golden caster sugar, 2 cinnamon sticks , 3 star anise, 4 cloves and slices of oranges to serve.
Put all the ingredients in a slow cooker on low for 1 1/2 – 2hrs until hot. Ladle into heatproof glasses, serve with slices of orange and enjoy.
Cheers Mumblers 🥂
Merry Christmas!
